This morning Felipe Massa set the pace in his Ferrari with a best lap of 1:11.810s, a tenth clear of Lewis Hamilton and Kimi Raikkonen. Fernando Alonso was eighth fastest but will be a top contender when it counts. |

| Mark Webber was fourth fastest in his Red Bull Renault in the morning practice session and along with team-mate David Coulthard should be a top ten contender in this session. Jarno Trulli set the fifth fastest time in his Toyota ahead of Rubens Barrichello who is still chasing his first Honda point of the season. |

| Nick Heidfeld was seventh fastest while team-mate Robert Kubica hit mechanical trouble and was unable to try a simulated qualifying run. This could hurt the Pole in this qualifying session. Sebastian Vettel and Nico Rosberg rounded out the top ten for Toro Rosso and Williams. |
