| This morning it was all McLaren Mercedes again as Fernando Alonso and Lewis Hamilton led the way by half a second from Felipe Massa. Ferrari topped the Friday morning session but have not looked fast again since. |

| While Massa was able to set the third fastest time, Kimi Raikkonen was only able to complete one timed lap before his Ferrari snapped right under braking and into the concrete retaining wall. The Finn was unhurt in the incident but he lost the remainder of the session. Raikkonen will qualify in the spare car with the race engine fitted in it, and will therefore not take a ten position engine change penalty. |

| BMW Sauber will be aiming to consolidate their position as the third best team in the sport. This morning Heidfeld and Kubica were fourth and fifth fastest. Williams showed well again this morning with Rosberg and Wurz sixth and seventh fastest. |
