| It was a good day for Massa however as he set the morning pace and led the way for much of the afternoon as well. The Brazilian has one clear aim and that is to dominate the season finale and then see where championship leader Hamilton finishes. |

| For Hamilton, Friday was not such a good day. The morning session saw him second fastest to Massa, but in the afternoon repeated brake lock ups prevented him from running on the pace of Alonso and Massa. He was ninth. |
