| Practice this morning saw Mark Webber set the pace for Red Bull Renault. While the Australian racer set the pace, it is likely that this was on low fuel while the expected front-runners ran with race fuel on board in preparation for the pole position shoot out. |

| Fernando Alonso was second fastest this morning in his Renault ahead of David Coulthard in the second Red Bull, Nico Rosberg in his Williams and Felipe Massa in the Ferrari. Jarno Trulli was sixth fastest in the Toyota ahead of Lewis Hamilton, Timo Glock, Jenson Button and Nelson Piquet. |

| Kimi Raikkonen and Heikki Kovalainen were just 11th and 12th fastest while BMW Sauber struggled with Robert Kubica and Nick Heidfeld 16th and 19th, probably on a relatively heavy fuel load. |
