| The big news yesterday was the announcement from Red Bull that they have signed up Mark Webber for the 2009 season and that David Coulthard has announced his retirement from the sport from the end of the season. Sebastian Vettel will almost certainly replace Coulthard in the team next season as he is already under contract to Red Bull. |

| The teams have had plenty of Silverstone running in a three day test following the French Grand Prix. Most completed tyre work ahead of the Grand Prix and therefore today we may not see much running. |

| Lewis Hamilton set the test pace last Thursday with a best lap of 1:19.170s in his McLaren Mercedes. The time compares favourably with his pole position time of 1:19.997s at the circuit last year, but of course the pole time is set with race fuel on board. |
